The Story Behind the Project

Balancing Budgets and Sloped Terrain

Located just off the A390 between Truro and St Austell, Tresillian Play Park is a vital community space for local families. The project presented a unique set of challenges:

Flexible Planning for Future Growth

We worked closely with the committee to bridge the gap between their vision and their eventual budget. By providing clear, tiered quotes, we helped them show grant providers exactly what could be achieved.
Once the final budget was confirmed, we refined the design to maximize play value for all ages while leaving space for the village to add more equipment in the future.

Vibrant, Multi-Age Adventure

The final installation is an attractive, high-energy park that breathes new life into the village.
Key Features of the Tresillian Project:
• Bespoke Play Tractor: Finished in a striking blue and yellow colour scheme, this popular unit has quickly become the park's visual centerpiece.
• Low-Level Agility Trail: Designed to follow the natural contours of the land, ending with a Monkey Climber to provide a physical challenge for older children.
• Mini Harbour Towers: A dedicated zone for younger explorers to engage in imaginative role play.
• Multi-Seat Family Swing: A versatile addition that allows children and parents to enjoy the park together.
• Refurbished Springers: We successfully re-fitted the community’s existing springers, ensuring they met modern safety standards.
• Funding Support: The Tresillian committee was in the process of applying for grant funding. They needed a partner who could provide multiple design options across various budget tiers to support their applications.
• Topography: The site is significantly sloped, meaning every piece of equipment had to be strategically placed to ensure safety and accessibility.
• Recycled Assets: The community had two springers locked away in storage that they wanted to refurbish and reintegrate into the new scheme.

Safety-Certified Community Fun

Before the grand opening, the entire area was inspected by an RPii inspector. This ensured that both the equipment and the safety surfacing fully met the BSEN 1176 and 1177 standards, giving the village total peace of mind.
Client Feedback: A Partnership Approach
Cathy caught up with Helen Nicholson from the Tresillian Play Area project to hear how we did.
What did we do well?
Almost everything! You were very approachable and quick with quotes. You understood what we wanted to achieve and produced a good design at a competitive price. You were very understanding of our funding situation and helpful in providing information needed for the grant forms. Installation went well and was quick.
Anything else you would like to tell us?
Thank you! We are delighted with the equipment and it is getting well used.
